Clymping Parish Council is seeking an enthusiastic and well organised individual for the role of Clerk/RFO to this proactive Council.
Time spent on council business varies weekly; working hours are flexible and set at an average of 7 hours per week. There will be a mix of home working / working within the Parish and the post holder will be required to attend evening meetings and occasional daytime events.
Salary is paid in accordance with the National Joint Council recommendations; starting salary NJC LC 1 (above substantive) salary point scales 13 -17 (£11.76 - £12.73 per hour) according to relevant experience and qualifications.
- Preparation for and attendance (and minute taking) at council meetings.
- Dealing with all council communication
- Managing council financial accounts
- Use of Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, digital meeting platforms and website management.
- Ensuring council compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Management of council assets
Good communication and literacy skills and knowledge of the local planning system are essential. Previous experience in local government administration and holding the CiLCA qualification is preferred, although training opportunities will be available to the successful candidate.
